Athena Community Education Partners (ACEP) Management Group Sam Howard and Angie Chiaravalloti have more than 65 years of combined teaching and administrative experience in both the public school and charter school arena. Their role is to provide leadership, support and expertise to the Senior Administrative Team and Board of Trustees in school operations, instructional and curriculum development and implementation.
Sam Howard has 34 years of experience in Public Education, with 31 of those in Administration and School Leadership. Additionally he brings 10 years of experience Planning, Operations and Development of Charter Schools. He was an Annenberg Institute for School Reform Fellow, as well as a graduate of several other Leadership Institutes and Academies, most recently completing a Senior Leadership program at The Leadership and Learning Center in Denver, CO. A retired Military Officer, he has been active in numerous National Educational Organizations and as a consultant in educational reform, has participated in the piloting of several cutting edge instructional models in urban centers. He has served on Middle States Accreditation Evaluation teams, as well as the State Evaluation Teams Special Education and Federal Program. He believes like many others, “ That all Children Can Learn “ and will continue the quest to make this a reality through tireless work and effort.
Angie Chiaravalloti has more than 35 years experience as a teacher and administrator in the Newark and Plainfield Public School systems. She served as the Special Assistant and Chief of Staff as well as a Regional Director of Charter Schools in Pittsburgh. A native of Gaeta, Italy, Angie believes that each child is an exceptional individual who needs a safe, loving, and stimulating environment in which to grow and develop emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. She believes that educators can help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and encourages a sharing of ideas. Angie's favorite quote is, "If you touch a rock, you touch the past. If you touch a flower, you touch the present. If you touch a child, you touch the future."
